audio from desktop being picked up in mic.

I have a scarlett 2i2 audio interface newest gen and am trying to use obs but my desktop audio gets picked up through my mic. Also my microphone audio when recording only records through one ear so when I play a clip back my mics only in the left ear. Please help. Clip provided here.

Is your desktop audio going out over speakers? If the mic is picking it up, that's something OBS can't really fix; you could try using a noise suppression filter, or something like the nVidia Studio audio processing software if you have an nVidia GPU that supports it.

For the one-ear thing, right-click your mic audio source in the Mixer inside OBS, go to Advanced Audio Properties, and tick the Mono checkbox.
 
I'm having this exact same issue, any fixes? I have headphones in and my speakers are turned down, I have my headphones plugged into the interface and whenever I play a video or anything plays the desktop audio picks up on the mic.
